Herdade do Sobroso, in its 1600 hectares, combines the production of wine with the fruition of space and nature, using them as a leisure center. Situated in the Alentejo municipality of Vidigueira, Herdade do Sobroso is bounded by Mendro mountains at north, Guadiana to the east and at south by the enormous plain that stretches out of sight. It is this geographical harmony underpinning the wealth of their land and it is in this context that the winery is located. It is a place where modernity and functionality coexist in an indelible fashion, so that gives to the produced wines a unique quality.
The Herdade do Sobroso is characterized by presenting clay loam and sandy soils focusing on implementation in accordance with criteria aimed at producing grapes with high quality. Regarding the climate this region is known for its cold winters, followed by long and hot summers. The dominant red grape varieties are Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon.
